About
Eastbay Chaplain Ministry was birthed in 2010 under the leadership of Reverend Austin Miles when he certified his first chaplain. From there it grew with chaplains throughout the Eastbay area in California. At that time Reverend Miles classes were conducted with his stories on what he has done as a chaplain. Also, he spoke about the heart of a chaplain and the importance of a chaplain being a servant of God.

Reverend Miles kept telling me I should become a chaplain since I was already doing the work of a chaplain. In 2015 I answered the call to become a chaplain and knew it was God who directed it. In the spring of 2016 Reverend Miles asked me to take charge of Eastbay Chaplains. God ordained me in chaplaincy.

The Eastbay Chaplain ministry has grown from Reverend Miles stories about being a chaplain. The classes went from storytelling to 8 written lessons with much information on the chaplain ministry work. Our first class under the new leadership was completed in October of 2016 with 21 new chaplains being certified.
God has brought Eastbay chaplains to a higher level with classes on zoom, the lessons are more detailed, and we are crossing boarders in other countries. Since then, we have grown to 138 chaplains serving not just in the Eastbay area, but across the United States and Uganda.

Eastbay Chaplains is under the guidance of God and will continue growing knowing God is with us.

Chaplain Priscilla Martinez
